Ford to Open New $450 M Thai Production Facility in May  

In May, Ford Motor Co. will open a new $450 million manufacturing facility in Rayong, Thailand that will produce at an annual capacity of 150,00 units. The facility will begin production with the Ford Focus passenger car for Thailand's domestic market and other Asian-Pacific markets.

Advantages of Thailand Fuel Growth for Market Leading Western Digital  

Thailand's  Western Digital attributes its rise over the last decade to become the world's largest hard disk drive (HDD) company to its successful Thai operations and steadfast faith in the country's swift recovery from recent floods. With over $1.5 billion invested, and 38,000 Thai employees, the company is the largest of the four major HDD manufacturers exporting from the country, and has over 650,000 square feet of production space at two factories near Bangkok. The company's CEO John Coyne points to the country's capable labor, tax incentives, consistent government support, and advanced logistics infrastructure as the reason for the companies continued success in global markets.

Canon to Build New Factory in Thailand       

In February, Canon began construction on a $74 million manufacturing company to produce digital multifunction office systems and service parts in Prachinburi province. Canon said that it chose the location for its stable supply of electricity and access to a reliable labor force. The facility will begin production in April 2013.

Coca-Cola will Expand Thai Investment

Coca-Cola will invest $45 million in the next three years to expand its beverage production in the ASEAN region, a priority market for the company. The ASEAN region will contribute to 15-20% of the company's global sales over the next five years. Coca-Cola will be investing in new production lines, distribution, cold drink equipment, outlet management and branding.

China Lone BRIC among Top Emerging Markets with Thailand No. 2    

Bloomberg Markets' ranking of the most-promising emerging markets for investors placed Thailand in the number two spot, only behind China. Thailand's high ranking was attributed to its ability to attract investors in search of agricultural wealth and an industrious workforce.
