On August 2, 2024, Mr. Nanthapol Sudbanthad, Director of the BOI New York Office, and His Excellency Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., met with Mr. Steven Kehoe, EVP, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Mr. Jamie Caulfield, Chief Financial Officer, and Ms. Caroline Berson, Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs at PepsiCo Headquarters in Purchase, New York. During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on supply chain resilience and future investment opportunities in Thailand, where PepsiCo has established its regional headquarters to facilitate trade in Asia as a BOI-promoted company.
Thailand is a key market for PepsiCo, where the company has built a robust business over the past 65 years, operating two major business segments: the food business, with manufacturing plants in Lamphun and Ayutthaya producing potato chips, and the beverage business, with manufacturing plants in Rayong and Saraburi. These operations create approximately 10,000 jobs in Thailand.
Mr. Kehoe underscored PepsiCo's commitment to bio-circular-green sustainability, environmentally friendly practices, advanced farmer upskilling with technological support, and sourcing goals. The company also shared information on its initiatives to support farmers in northern and northeastern Thailand through technological advancements in agriculture and crop management.
Additionally, Director Nanthapol provided updates on the latest measures and policies available to PepsiCo executives, whether for existing projects in Thailand or future investments. He also highlighted merit-based incentives for the company if it plans to enhance production lines with automation systems. |
