On August 14, 2024, Mr. Nanthapol Sudbanthad, Director of the BOI New York Office, met with Mr. Paul Fleck, Vice President, General Counsel of Transportation Solutions, and Mr. Reggie Lai, Vice President of Global Government Affairs and Corporate Responsibility at TE Connectivity in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. TE Connectivity is a global leader in connectors and sensors, serving a diverse range of industries. The company currently operates in Chachoengsao, Thailand, and has acquired Schaffner EMC, and ERNI Electronics (Thailand) in Lamphun, focusing on the automotive sector.
During the visit, Mr. Lai provided an exclusive tour of the TE Showcase Center, where the latest advancements in product development and technology solutions are displayed.
In the meeting, Director Nanthapol shared updates on the latest measures and policies relevant to TE Connectivity's current and future projects in Thailand. He also highlighted the country’s electric vehicle (EV) incentives and merit-based benefits available to companies that enhance their production lines with automation systems.
In a separate meeting, on August 16, 2024, Director Nanthapol was invited by His Excellency Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., to join a meeting with Mr. Andy Mecs, the Executive Vice President of Chicken of the Sea International (COSI). COSI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Thai Union Group, originally a Thai company.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on regulations, tariffs, and other concerns that have impacted consumer demand as well as opportunities for continued growth in the industry and concerns about mercury levels in fish and shellfish, which have impacted consumer demand and shifted preferences towards different types of meat over seafood. |
