During 16–19 June 2025 The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), New York Office, in collaboration with the Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS), the Science and Technology Park at Chiang Mai University (STeP CMU), and Professor Sirirurg Songsivilai, M.D., Ph.D. Chairman of the National Commission on Science, Technology, and Innovation, led a delegation of Thai entrepreneurs, including biotechnology and biomedicine startups/spin-offs from CMU to participate in the BIO International Convention 2025, held from June 16–19 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Massachusetts.

The mission aimed at strengthening Thailand’s global presence in the biotechnology and biomedicine sectors by fostering international partnerships, expanding access to cutting-edge technologies, and promoting investment collaboration. There were 20,000 participants as the Convention provided a premier platform for high-level business matchmaking, investment discussions, and exploration of breakthrough innovations.

At the event, the BOI New York team engaged with potential investors to position Thailand as a strategic destination for investment. Key issues discussed included Thailand’s robust life sciences ecosystem, attractive government incentive programs, a highly skilled workforce trained in GMP standards, a well-integrated value chain spanning biotechnology, healthcare, and wellness industries and strategic partnerships with academic and research institutions. Furthermore, Thai startups actively participated in business matchmaking, pitched their innovations to global stakeholders, and built valuable connections to explore future market opportunities and international collaborations.
